To the person who said that they re seeded and made repairs to the park is completely wrong. It still looks like a war zone. The festival impedes and slows down traffic, it nearly takes two weeks for set up and tear down of the festival. Calling people an entitled twit only means you are chugging on the kool aid that Johnny Dare feeds.

To the person saying that they re-seeded the lawn. They have not done any repairs to the lawn. This concert has done significant damage the surrounding area, slows and impedes traffic, and it is on a national memorial. Move it to Berkely Park, or a lake.

It is disgraceful. The politicians, gov. officials and L. Memorial officials allow the park to be torn up EVERY YEAR! Drugs, alcohol, criminals you name it. Shameful! Streets blocked, traffic disrupted, loud music, out of control loud fireworks late at night. Take the event out of the middle of the city. Take it to the country where no one has to see or hear it!

RockFest brings out the worst citizens of the KC metro area. Trashiest group of people I've seen since I watch the movie Winters Bone. Every year it pours the week of or during the concert and ruins the grounds. The grounds haven't been the same since they started the concert here. Please move locations and tell others to sign petition

As a resident of the immediate area around the Memorial and park, I throw my support behind moving Rockfest. The festival does a yearly disservice to the Memorial and park that does not happen from other festivals and it clogs the streets with cars displacing local residents.

From blocking access to parking for a mile around, community sports fields, the liberty memorial, and the Penn valley dog park to destroying the grass of the park itself and ruining a beautiful area for residents, Rockfest should be moved to a less vital, populated area of the city

Charlie red, you are wrong! Since you live nowhere near this event and the surrounding neighborhood, you have no knowledge about what inconveniences occur over many days in a huge geographic area. The site is occupied by Rockfest staff and vendors for about a week and a half. Numerous roads in the park and parking spaces are blocked off for days. Folks involved park in the dog park lot (and they often illegally park in the two handicap spots), making it almost impossible for most dog park users to attend for several days. People cutting through the dog park often leave gates open, throw all sorts of trash on the ground where dogs can get at it and where people have to dispose of others' trash to protect their dogs (and kids too) because the available cans are insufficient fo the crowds. The one ports-pot by the dog park gets disgustingly full early-on and not emptied in a timely manner. The city has literally thousands of park acres more appropriate for the size of Rockfest as it has evolved. As a sanctimonious suburbanite, you have no idea what you're talking about.

It is not just a one day event...the organizers block off the area at least a week before. Swope park has a natural amphitheater, what a great open space.

It wouldn't be bad if it was just one day but the arrogant organizers and their workers monopolize the area for a week and a half

Its a great event but its outgrown the urban center its in. The location is inconvenient for both concert-goers with nowhere to park and residents who have trouble getting around.
