I am all for a cold shelter for the homeless. BUT not any where near any schools. I am sorry people are having trouble and in need of help. But I firmly believe they need to be drug screened first.

We need a shelter. This is not the place. Monies should be funneled towards agencies that will protect the community and take responsibility and accountability for their actions. Love Overwhelming has failed over and over again. Start a new agency with responsible leadership that acknowledges that they are accountable for the people within and the community it resides in. Let the faith community be a part but find a warehouse in an industrial area. Hire security and make it drug and alcohol free.

I have, Last winter and the winter before, spent my early early mornings before work at the severe weather shelter making breakfast for and feeding the homeless but I am also a mother and a grandmother... I am signing this because I agree that it should be moved to a different location .

My children go to kids world, among many other children there and across the street at Kessler. Pf course I want everyone, including people who have nowhere else to go, to have somewhere to stay dry and warm. Nonetheless, our children should not be put at risk for this sake. Children are defenseless and have no way to defend themselves and should not be put in the position to have their safe place taken from them or destroyed by many of this population who take advantage of the resources these shelters and facilities provide. Please think about the children's safety and innocence before making such a drastic and potentially dangerous choice!

Please be smart about this and move the homeless population somewhere AWAY from our children.

I don't think this is a good idea.

I appreciate the church offering this service but there has to be another location that is not directly next to a preschool & Elementary school. My child attends this preschool and this situation is very disturbing.

I live in this neighborhood and already see how it had started to go down. The kids who go to this school and pre schools dont need to see any more. It's sad that they can not even walk around safely without fecal matter and needles laying around.

Hope you find something else. Like warehouses. Places out in the country. I know what it's like to be homeless. It was the worst of times but the best, if that makes sense. Anyway my heart goes out to them. But they don't need to be around our babies. Babies and homeless need to stay safe.

They can find other empty and available buildings that aren’t in a school district you know and I know there is drugs and alcohol that goes along with the homeless example the clean up behind Walmart. Would you want your child or grand babies to see this ...
