I do not agree with housing so close to schools! Not a safe location. You would be putting all of those kids at risk!!!!!

I am all for taking care of those in our community but a location that many children frequent is not something I can support. My daughter currently goes to the school as well did my sons. Her safety, as well as the other children's, outrank everything.

This location is inappropriate for an emergency shelter. It is too close to two schools, and could be potentially hazardous to the children attending these schools. Also, I got married in that church, the children at the preschool have all of their performances and holiday parties there, they also have traffic safety classes in the alley between the church and the school. This building already has a purpose for the children of Kid’s World Learning Center.

Near schools and daycares isn't the place for this. It's understood that a place is needed but this isn't it. It's putting kids at risk of childmolesters, traffickers, drugs, and the kneedles they leave everywhere. Not all addicts are bad people, most aren't, but they do make bad choices and the bad people that use and feed off them are never far behind.

They have no way to control if the people using this have dangerous criminal backgrounds, are sex offenders, or are wanted. People who use these tend to stay in close proximity when they have to leave during the day...WHAT IF they are sex offenders to these children?!

Cold weather shelter should NOT be next to a preschool or elementary school. Even if the hours are outside of preschool and acho hours, they still linger right in the area and will make it unsafe for our children. If LO is involved that makes it his that much worse!

The homeless that are drug addicted have no business near our children (and the staff)! It has been proven time and again that they do not leave the premises of shelters when they close. Move them to the court or city halls!

I have had a long history of family members with addiction problems. I tried with my husband to provide a safe place for our loved one to get treatment and sobriety. While there were some good days eventually it failed and someone I love a great deal is still out on the streets, mentally ill because of using. What we learned is that the quality and duration of treatment is the critical element, with accountability. We, family, are not a good treatment center. It sounds like Love Overwhelming is trying ineffectively to help and could perpetuate or increase the risk of failure for people who will not submit to rules in a program. I think we should all support the efforts that show success in numbers and the reconciliation of addicted people to their communities. Accountability is huge. Families, churches, are often the target of those in addiction who want to maintain their style of living. We are often bad treatment centers tho.

Wasn't the last shelter shut down because of sex in public, going to the restroom outside, and general upkeep?

I will unfortunately pull my child if this goes thru, not worth risking her safety :(

Keep Love Overwhelming away from schools and children!! I worked next door to their shelter a few years ago - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE & DRUG USE EVERYWHERE!
