201 S. 1st Street is historically known as the 1933 U.S. Post Office in Gallup, New Mexico. It was listed on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1961 and on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. Comcast is currently occupying this building. Comcast uses the basement level and the outside area for satellites but does not utilize the building to its full potential. This beautiful location is at the heart of the downtown area and should be used as a community space. The size and structure of the building should allow for a vast number of regular visitors to enjoy the building, reflect the beauty of Gallup, and be revitalized to its former glory. Would you consider signing this petition stating that Comcast should move out of this building and use it for a greater purpose?
