I completely agreed with the petition. Cars on Iris Dr and Summit Road are going way too fast

Enforcement is the solution: Soft start would be more radar speed signs (cars and e-bikes). Also enforce helmets, licenses, registrations, insurance, and maximum speed for e-bikes. Tickets to parents. Laws are moot if not enforced.

The/a speed limit is only effective if it is enforced. Please do more to ensure the safety of Mountainside children, whom shouldn't be fearful of playing outside because the average Joe/Jane elects to drive an overpowered SUV. It wad dangerous enough when I was growing up in Mountainside (Deerfield class of 2005), and certainly hasn't gotten safer...

25 is the limit on most of the streets in Mtsde. Try driving 25 and see how many people tailgate you... ;-)

big safety changes must be made for people and our wildlife. Anyone riding e-bikes should undergo training, and a “driving test”. Licensed drivers are 18. It is unsafe having the kids recklessly carousing amongst the increasing traffic in our towns due to extreme condo /townhouse overdevelopment. Drivers too, desperately need to slow down, get off their phones and focus on their own driving skills. Mill Lane and echo lake park are becoming throughways for speeders- danger on route 22 is out of control- it’s getting like the parkway.

Praying that reason will prevail and safety for our children will be prioritized.

More traffic cops need to be out on the roads in the borough.

Longview Drive & Cherry Hill Road - lots of speeding cars, kids on e-bikes not stopping at the stop sign at Longview & Wyoming. (Also overgrown shrubbery obscuring vision at corners). Many thanks for anything you can to help keep everyone safe.

We live on Summit Road, and the speeding cars here have become very dangerous. It creates a real safety risk for families, We kindly ask that you consider including Summit Road in your traffic and safety plan to help address this issue.

Please implement meaningful measures to keep children and people safe on our roads. This includes regulations for riding e-bikes. Driving age is 17 so kids younger than this riding e-bikes are at risk when they ride on shared roads with vehicles. Thank you for taking time and meaningful action to keep everyone safe on our roads.

Excellent plan to keep our kids safe. This begins with educating the parents. Getting the school and community involved is the best way to go about educating the children, parents and encouraging others to speak out, pass the word on and be proactive to help keep our kids safe before there is a serious accident.
