Final supporters
The seniors and juniors of the Mount Saint Mary College School of Nursing have been charged for an NCLEX review class hosted by ATI for $500. Many students have reached out in order to protest this fee because it is felt forced and unnecessary. No student was given the chance to consent to the charges and are forced to pay regardless of interest in the program. This petition has been started because of the superfluous amount of fees we pay toward our college education which include and are not limited to clinical fees, ATI review, and a private school college tuition. This petition is written for the most recent fee regarding the NCLEX review in order to assuage the fees for the students who would rather prepare themselves on their own or through the agency they feel most fit.

This is absolutely disgusting. How dare they do this honestly. Tack on an extra $500 a week before school starts to tuition without anyone's consent. Cool if they just wanted to give the option to do this, but to force the entire junior and senior class to do this without anyone's permission...unbelievable. Very disgusted and disappointed in MSMC
I am a single mother of a senior nursing student. This is very disturbing to learn. I am very disappointed in MSMC!!
I believe the prep course is great FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO TAKE IT! However, not being required for the degree, I believe the student should be allowed to take the course, not forced to take it. Having faced a similar prep course for the bar (BARBRI), I paid for the course, but of my own volition. Of those who did not take the course, only approximately 50% passed.
This is completely ridiculous. We all can decide how to study for our NCLEX. I know I will not use ATI. These fees completely blindsided all of us. I was told the ATI fees are part of the curriculum and that I do not have an option to opt out of it. Though weve been paying ATI fees since freshman year and only this year did one of my instructors even decide to talk about it. It is useless.
This is wrong of the college administration to do this with out notification. If the administration feels the nursing students need this program it should be inclouded within the tuition, up front! This should follow through to all current Mount St Mary's nursing student's enrolled in the program.Want to charge, then do that to fall on coming freshman from there forward.
Ati should not be charged to nurses students
I don't want ATI and I already emailed Dr. Murphy about it.

ATI has never been useful. We, the student body, resent the faculty forcing us to pay for these additional "resources" that we neither use nor benefit from when we're forced to go through their check-in-the-box training. It doesn't increase learning, it teaches us how to manipulate online programs that were forced to get through so we can get back to studying. I say this as a junior with a 3.9 overall GPA.
