Publix has considered Moultrie for a store for a few years now yet continues to choose other nearby cities to either expand or build in. (Tifton new store, Valdosta second store, Leesburg new store and now a new store being built in Thomasville)
Colquitt County is home to over 46,000 residents. It is the 3rd most populated county in Southwest Georgia as of the 2010 Census. It is also the most centrally located city in the region. No matter what direction you travel from, Moultrie is the easiest city to reach as it sits right in the middle of the region. Surrounded by 6 counties.
It was recently announced that Bi-Lo would close one of the two stores it owns in Moultrie. They chose to close the Winn-Dixie.
After Winn-Dixe closes in June 2014 it will leave Moultrie with only 2 major grocery stores. Harvey's and Walmart.
Moultrie Georgia is in need of a quality grocery store like Publix.

Hallulah I am so tired of driving to Thomasville to shop in a real grocery store. We can by blue cheese and other cheeses and have Bores Head meats,all of EVERYTHING. Yes please send a Publix here. Yes. Yes. Yes.
