My middle schooler needs more support in mainstream courses. She is on meds, but still has difficulty focusing without redirection. Intellectually she is capable of the work. She really is not being serviced enough to reach her potential.

Moving every couple of years including selling two homes just so we got the right education for my now 21 year old son I have ended up living in north scotland as this is where the education system is an was much further ahead of England for kids with autism. Even saying that it definitely isn't perfect the education bodies need to listen to the parents then maybe there will be more kids educated an not baby sat,, my son is now independent he travels he try's things he works, but there was a huge amount of sacrifice for the whole family to achieve this where as I have no regrets, it was a hell of a fight for a little no time

It's about time things were changed I have spent 13 years being told it's parenting issues,even though my other children were gifted & talented & thrived in school. He has only just been diagnosed with Autism. He has been out of school for nearly a year & should be sitting his GCSE's. The situation is being ignored. He will end up as yet another unemployed adult due to SYSTEM FAILURE!! There are thousands like him & the situation is only going to get worse. It's about time the problem was addressed. MORE SHOULD BE DONE NOW!!

More provisions need to be put into place to ensure ALL children get a fair education, a mainstream setting is often not suitable for some SEN children. Good luck x

I agree totally with every thin that is being said. Their is very little support if any in some areas Not enough good qualified teachers in our main stream schools. To many hoops to jump through and you are just going around in circles getting no hep what so ever

There are not enough places to best serve these children who have the right to an education like all children. They particularly need to look at secondary provision where children who are different in some way often suffer terrible bullying.

I have 3 children on the spectrum living and coping with this hidden disability is hard enough for them but the fight for the right support for my children is a constant battle and one thousands of parents could do without!

We desperately need more provision for our ASC kids, they are individuals with a right to an appropriate education. When they do not fit 'the boxes' we need to question the validity of 'the boxes' in our current education system.

I have two children on the spectrum, 1 in specialist school, 1 mainstream, who carnt cope & now is out of school on reduced timetable 2hrs, 3 days a week, fight fight, it's a long hard road, trying to get support, as if living with autism is not hard enough!!
