Okay, so this is my 3rd year at GCU and last year I paid to park in the 29th Ave garage. It was fine cause I would always find a parking spot on either the 3rd or 4th floors. However, I saw the constant complaints about them blocking off the 1st and 2nd floors due to event parking. This is ridiculous. Events do not occur 24/7 so why have it reserved for guests 24/7??? They don't pay to park there! This year I paid $10 to park at Colter. The reason why I paid was cause it's cheaper and it was closer to Papago. But no!! They blocked 3/4 of the Colter parking lot so I have to park on the 29th ave surface lot. I did not pay to park there with all the dirt and rocks. Sometimes, my tires on my car gets flat so I have to go fill them up which costs additional money, on top of my tuition and expenses at GCU! They need to pave the lot or at least block off the 29th Ave surface lot and reopen the Colter lots near Papago Apartments!!!! I should've just left my car at home to find out that the distance i walk is the same as if I was parking at the 29th Ave garage. Seriously GCU, care more about your students who bring cars onto campus! Also, I HATE that it takes me 10-20 min just to find parking at the surface lot, I see students park right next to the 29th Ave garage or at the ditch, but I don't want to risk my car for that. This is getting out of control. Build parking garages that's at least 10 stories high instead of multiple 5 story garages.

Each year it feels like our parking availability is limited more and more, pushed farther from our dorms, and gets more over-crowded. Those who pay $150 for a parking garage should not have to park on the roof. They are paying for COVERED parking to protect their vehicles from the sun and other elements, not to let their car sit in the sun on the exposed roof. We work hard for our money too, please respect that.

I am a commuter and I have a 20-25 minute walk from my parking lot to and from class. Half the time I can't find a spot and so I am almost always late to class. I need something closer, or maybe some kind of shuttle system? I know there's golf carts, but they never pick me up. And there are never any driving around for my 7am classes

I love GCU and all it stands for, I am just highly disappointed in the parking situation right now. It is not safe for so many cars to be crammed into Colter (which has random pipes laying down in the dirt, as well as other construction materials), and it is not fair to sell parking for a lot that over 1/2 of the parking spaces no longer exist thanks to construction. I've had to park in the garage (once) because of how crammed it has been in Colter which isn't fair to the people who spend $150 to park in a shaded garage. I hope this helps advocate change for parking in the future

There definitely has to be better parking for the students. The parking is far from campus and there is not enough room. With all this going on even the commuter parking lots are becoming too full and don't have enough parking spaces.
