Why is half of colter blocked off?!? It would not be as bad if they open it... people paid to park there so open it up!

The parking is absolutely atrocious this year. Not only did the school have the audacity to close off more than half of the Colter dirt parking, they also had closed off the first two floors of the parking garage for "event parking only". Oh, and if you can't find any space in your designated parking area, you are really out of options. If you park in a different area, because of the lack of space, you will still be given a parking ticket. I think the cherry to top it off is the fact that people who paid for covered parking, may be forced to park on the roof, which, surprise, isn't covered.

Commuters should not have to park so far away, no one should have to park so far away-- potentially set up some solar panels over parking areas to not only give shade, but provide power for school. (San Diego Zoo does this)

The parking situation at GCU is atrocious. Not only for students that live on campus, but also for students already spending time commuting to school only to show up and spend an additional 30 minutes looking for a parking spot. The lots are closing and the garages are filled to the brim. Please do something about this.

Commuters have a serious strugle with parking. I get here at 6:30am for a 7am class and can't find parking in my garage. If we get more dorms, then we need more parking spaces. And for the garages that are far from the campus (aka 15 minute walks), there need to be carts or busses or something so we can get to class on time without having to include a 15 minute walk to our commute time.

I am assigned to park in the colter lot. This entire lot is a giant mess. First off, there is only one opening that can fit one car and we are suppose to enter and leave from this opening. I have witnessed a few almost wrecks as someone is trying to leave when another enters. Secondly, there are hardly any parking spots open and many people create their own parking space which creates an even smaller space than originally designed. Thirdly, when looking for a parking spot, the aisles are not designed to drive through the parking lot. You cannot go down and aisle and up the next. You have to go down the aisle, turn around (which is impossible so you end up backing down the aisle with people behind you) and then turn into the next aisle, repeat. I was told that there would be a guard at the entrance of the parking lot at all times and I have yet to see one. I am looking for a parking lot that is safe and efficient. I don't want myself, or anyone else getting hurt from a dangerous layout.

I am a commuter here on campus and I was expecting to pay the $5 or $10 for parking but instead I had to pay the $150 because they are taking out lots to build sports facilities and such! This is ridiculous. Don't get more people on campus if you can't accommodate them.

It is ridiculous that Colter can park in 29th ave yet people paid $150 to park in 29th and shouldn't have to struggle to find parking because people that paid $10 can now park there. The first and second floors also should not be blocked off for event parking unless there is actually an event going on that day. Golf carts need to also run to the parking garage WAY more frequently.

Number the spots in colter and sell students a spot, not a lot. No one could get away with parking where they don't belong! I'm sick of seeing a lot full of visitors where it's already oversold!!!

It's ridiculous to double the campus population and then not add more sufficient parking. It's also ridiculous to not have nicer/safer parking, especially considering where our campus is located.

I love a lot about GCU, so I was apprehensive to sign this at first. However, parking is getting ridiculous. I paid $150 so I could park my truck under covering to protect it from the elements and the sun, but the garage now has 1 1/2 covered floors blocked off for people who don't pay to park there. So now myself and a lot of other people who paid $150 for covered parking are parking on the roof with no covered parking. Had I known I wasn't going to get covered parking I would have just paid the $10 for Colter which is closer to campus rather than $150 for further away. I don't understand reserving blocks of spots because if we all fit with the blocks removed, the same number of open spots would be available throughout the garage. As far as flow is concerned, it doesn't make a difference if it's isolated to first and 2nd floor because students leaving or arriving back at campus still have to go through the traffic on the 1st and 2nd floor to park higher up. I really hate to complain about this otherwise great school, but this is getting ridiculous.

I love being a GCU student and I wouldn't trade my experience here for the world, but I have received far too many tickets for parking in lots that I was not assigned to due to the complete lack of spots in my designated garage. I am also disappointed that I have to wait up to 30 minutes to take the spot of another person.
