We support a bigger budget to be directed towards light rail construction and maintenance for the purpose of reducing traffic gridlock, conserving precious non-renewable resources, helping the environment, and enhancing a sense of local community. More money needs to be spent on light rail in Houston. Funds from the Metro budget should not be diverted into "street improvements."
