I'm in favor of Floyd Medical Center having open heart surgery services. My father had open heart surgery 3 years ago at Redmond, but he wanted to be cared for at Floyd Medical Center. People deserve to have a choice regarding their health care and surgical needs. Competition, cost, and choice of care have shown to consistently drive quality of care in the field of healthcare. In addition, the African American community is suffering due to the lack of available cardiovascular services, which Floyd is dedicated to improving for best possible outcomes for this population.
