Giving Floyd the opportunity to perform open heart surgeries will not only give better access to people in the community to open heart surgeries at lower prices, it will also give those that need open surgery the option to choose where they receive there care.

In my personal opinion, having an accessible open heart service would help us in case of emergencies. Right now if someone comes through the Emergency Room with Chest Pain and it is decided they will need the procedure, we have 30 minutes to find a facility that can accept our patient and take them right then and there. With this option, we can cut out the middle man and get the patient in a more stable condition faster.

I believe it would greatly benefit our patients if these heart procedures were available at Floyd Medical Center also. It gives them a choice and input in their care. We need to help our patients ..... in all aspects of their health.
