As a mission-based not-for-profit hospital, Floyd Medical Center has already proven our ability and willingness to remove barriers to critical health services for populations in need. Granting approval for Floyd to provide open heart surgery is the right thing to do for our community.

Rome needs more heart options. Floyd employees have to use Floyd facilities if a Floyd employee had to have heart surgery they would have to pay out of network to go somewhere else.

I believe it would benefit the community to have a choice as to which facility they prefer to have heart surgery at. Many choose one over the other for their own specific reason, therefore this type surgery should be one of the options they can choose where to have it at.

Healthcare and life-saving surgeries should never be something a human has to negate due to lack of funds. Healthcare is a human right. I hope we can receive the opportunity to demonstrate our unequivocal belief in Basic Human Rights in this community.
