Rome really needs additional open heart surgery options. Floyd Medical Center should be granted their certificate of need. They have a history of being there for the Northwest Georgia citizens, and a history of top quality care.

Floyd is committed to its communities and surrounding counties and states, we provide a high level of Trauma care and save lives daily. Open Heart surgery also saves lives and Floyd Medical Center should have the opportunity to provide this service to the community as well.

My community needs and deserves more than one choice for open heart surgery. I have seen information indicating our minority community is underserved by the current coverage. This is a healthcare issue and may also be a distributive justice issue.

Floyd Medical Center is the center for medical care in Northwest Georgia. Open Heart surgery is an essential service for Floyd to provide to the many patients in surrounding counties including the uninsured and low income residents that don't have access otherwise.
