Lehigh University's position on Michael Behe and ID: "Prof. Michael Behe, is a well-known proponent of "intelligent design." While we respect Prof. Behe's right to express his views, they are his alone and are in no way endorsed by the department. It is our collective position that intelligent design has no basis in science, has not been tested experimentally, and should not be regarded as scientific." http://www.lehigh.edu/~inbios/News/evolution.html

Sad that the least knowledgeable people are now going to be in charge but that is no reason to make America's future generations ignorant. Teach your children whatever superstitions you feel you must. If you taught them how to think critically, they wouldn't support this silly petition either.

FALSE! Evolution has posed, and continues to pose, many hypotheses that have been tested and time and time and time again (repeatability being a cornerstone of scientific endeavor) and results have proven to support the hypotheses, i.e., support the theory of evolution. BTW, google "scientific theory" so you understand the difference between "theory" as used in a scientific sense and "theory" as used in non-scientific common vernacular.

"Evolution is the cornerstone of modern biology."
"Intelligent design is not a scientific concept."
--John Marberger, President George W. Bush's science adviser, responding to Bush's suggestion that we teach intelligent design creationism in public schools

If you want your children to learn creationism send them to the religious school of your choice, but the general public should not have to deprogram their kid on a daily basis.

Science and religion both seek to proclaim what each sees as 'the truth.' But truth is always true, and can never contradict itself. Whatever is truly 'true' will always remain, so rather than quarrel and fight from opposing camps, let's dialog and search together for true meaning.

To believe that the perfect balance seen in nature could occur by chance, no matter how many billions of years.....who could believe such nonsense?

This has to be fake judging on the signatures. But on the chance it isn't, is there any law saying we can remove such people from positions of power for being dangerously stupid and therefor a danger to our country?

What utter crap! I'd hope that all of the anti-evolutionists would also quit availing themselves of the benefits of scienc, including modern medicine, and die off quickly.
