It's best not to include the date of your references. This could potentially allow readers to discover that your chosen reference has been thoroughly debunked since 1876. It is great to see so many distinguished scientists signing this petition. I guess, as with the fall of the Berlin Wall, many people want to consign Darwinism to the ash heap of history just as Marxism was.
