Plants grown organically in rich soul obtain the most and best nutirients. Please keep the dirt and all it's natural components (including worms, bugs and bacteria) in organic farming.

Microbial life in soil is not damaging, but nourishing. Our internal terrain is comparable to the earth's. All chronic disease has a component of imbalanced gut microbiota due to insufficient beneficial gut species or insufficient quantities, overgrowth of commensal species not kept in check by good species, and the overgrowth of dysbiotic species that flourished due to an imbalanced terrain. Food grown with diverse soil enables improved microbiota. Stop fumigating it.

Once again the NOP is blatantly disregarding the recommendations of the NOSB in their approval of hydrophonic systems being certified organic - and they did so without any standards as to how the hydroponic systems should operate or what "water amendments" they would consider to be organic. This is not acceptable. Keep the soil in organic certification!!

Organic standards need to be upheld as I am counting on that label. I am willing to pay more for organics, but need to be sure that is what I am getting for my money. Also, animal welfare should be higher in organic standards

I would have loved more than you can imagine if hydorponic production could be one organically, but it is not and what is produced requires the extensive use of fungicides among other products that I do not want and can't tolerate health-wise in my food.

Please keep soil in the organic standards. All we are asking is that the USDA act in support of the recommendation presented by the National Organic Standards Board in 2010. Until they finalize good greenhouse standards, we demand that the USDA stop certifying any new acreage of hydroponic production as organic. Grown in the ground is in keeping with the beliefs of the organic community, and the standards of the rest of the world.

There is no replacing the soil with a water soluble chemical solution even if it includes fish excrement!
