Organic means no Harmful to the Environment chemicals added to soil. Which nature provides an Incredible balance of the ecosystem. Non organic disrupts the balance, is toxic and harmful. This is not new news. Rachel Carson wrote about it decades ago. It's time to start working with nature and stop fighting and distroying the earth which is home to all of us.

As the director of the upcoming feature documentary Organic Rising I strongly support this moratorium on hydroponic farming. Hydroponic farming is not organic farming. These are two different things entirely.

While those who grow hydroponically, and select natural methods, should be distinguished in some way from those utilizing synthetics, that label is NOT USDA certified organic. Organic is tied to the soil, to honoring the biological principals of the soil microbiome, and enhancing and protecting the environment from the ground up.

Hydroponics is chemical industrial farming. Hydroponics is NOT organic. Organic farming requires building healthy soil.

We need to have higher standards than "certified organic" require. Now if hydroponics are included in that certification, why would anyone pay to obtain that label? It is becoming even more meaningless.

please do not allow hydroponically grown vegetables to be certified as organic....they are not organic. not sure why you would even consider food grown in chemically treated water, with no nutrition providing soil, to be organic.

We need to specify the conditions so people can make a choice: Organic/ Aquaponic/Hydroponic/ GMO/Free range/Grass Fed/etc.
All these need separate labeling!

It's just plain common sense that plants grown in water do not have the nutritional value of plants grown in water. The USDA National Organic Program is a disgrace to true organically grown crops. It's a case of watering down the National Organic Program.
