I support the move to reserve the organically-grown designation exclusively to soil-grown produce, and prohibit hydroponically-grown produce from using it. We need to invigorate both the soil of America whose nutrients need restoration and preservation, as well as the human environment of smaller farms over factory-like operations. Reserving the organic designation for soil-grown only is a step toward both goals.

Food grown in soil is how nature intended. Hydroponics should not be considered "organic."

I'm an organic farmer, and I believe in the organic standards because they encourage cooperation and integration with the broader natural world. Or, at least I thought they did. As far as I can tell, soilless operations don't cooperate or integrate with nature. In fact, I don't recognize much about them that's natural. Please keep the soil in Organic!

I buy organic veggies because they ARE grown in soil - nourishing soils with a variety of components that nature provides. I would never buy hydroponic veggies because they lack the infinitesimal variety of nourishments that various soils provide. I don't consider hydroponical grown veggies as organic.

The organic standards are already free falling, We need a word/paradigm! working with the structures of nature rather than imposing and creating uncompostable/polluting wastes such as all the plastic tubing, structures and concrete, this is very far from organic principles.

We demand that the USDA National Organic Program accept the 2010 NOSB recommendation to prohibit soilless hydroponic vegetable production as certified organic. We ask that you immediately institute a moratorium on the organic certification of all NEW hydroponic acreage until the final rule is issued.
No Soil then it's not probably not Organic.
