Lately many websites are selling plot of lands on the moon by the acre. who gives them the right to sell the moon!! These actions should be prohibited and termed illegal. Humans have destroyed and made earth almost inhabitable. They should not be allowed to do the same with Moon. In 1967 an outer space treaty was signed by nations. The Outer Space Treaty represents the basic legal framework of international space law. The treaty explicitly forbids any government from claiming a celestial resource such as the Moon or a planet, claiming that they are the Common heritage of mankind.Art. II of the Treaty states that "outer space, including the Moon and other celestial bodies, is not subject to national appropriation by claim of sovereignty, by means of use or occupation, or by any other means".
