After spending two hours trying to access my Weight Watchers plan on my mobile phone this morning, and searching for an app for the iphone, I was made aware through the Weight Watchers message boards that only USA customers have the privilege of using WW mobile apps, and that paying UK customers do not have access. From what I have gathered through other members' correspondance with Weight Watchers, this is because Weight Watchers would have to re-build their UK site in order for it to support a mobile app, something it seems they are not prepared to do in the foreseeable future. Now this would be understandable if Weight Watchers was a charity, however it is not. It is a multi-million pound crganisation, with online customers paying in the region of £10 - £18 per month for the online tools and articles. It is a disgrace that Weight Watchers are refusing to listen to the needs of their paying customers here in the UK. I propose to put forward a petition of as many signatures as possible to outline the need for mobile apps for Weight Watchers' UK customers. Even if you don't have a smartphone, please sign the position as you never know when you may find it helpful to access your plan on your mobile device.
