We had to wait for 2 years after moving to Meringandan West before getting Internet as ports were not available. Mobile reception very poor.

This needs to be submitted to NBNCO also. The fact that Kleinton has NBN but Meringandan doesn't is nuts, especially given the lack of Port availability in the area.

We are being left behind compared to many other areas of the community. If you are going to take us away from the Rosalie Shire Council and put us under city rules even though we are a rural town then at least try to keep us as updated or prioritised as the rest of the region.

Mobile phone service is limited in Meringandan and the Internet speed seems very slow in Highfields, always cutting out.

Moved from Cabarlah to Highfields paid the reconnection fee, then waited & waited until we had ring them ourselves to be told that there is no adsl ports available for a long time. Hardly can reception at all!

Had to change from Optus to Telstra when I moved here due to coverage problems. Now Telstra is almost as bad! I get one bar of service if I'm lucky! I also have slow internet connection at my home!

The issue of lack of mobile phone reception needs to be addressed. It is extremely frustrating to have to go outside everytime I need to make a phone call !! Also the lack of ports for internet connections in areas of Highfields that don't have access to NBN needs to be addressed. Due to lack of phone reception wireless internet in pointless !!

Reception is terrible for mobile phone use in the Meringandan West area and you have to go outside to speak on your phone. Internet speeds are also very slow.

We are in Meringandan. Mobile service and internet is patchy and ridiculous. We spend a fortune and can't even guarantee we will get use of these services we are paying for. Telstra is patchy and optus is a total no go. It is ridiculous given our proximity to a major centre. Something needs to be done ASAP

I moved to Kleinton (between Highfields and Meringandan) in 2013. When I first got here there was NO internet facility available. We had to get mobile wifi hotspots which cost $110/month for 15 gb data. There were no ports available. We now get ADSL. The mobile phone signal for Telstra was OK. Optus was and still is totally useless. Now Telstra mobile has gradually got worse (still OK to bad outside the house) and Optus is still useless (both inside and outside the house). There's a safety concern and my semi retired husband (computer consultant) telecommutes but has enormous difficulty. This is dreadful. This is like living in a small outback country town, not 15 minutes from the 'city' of Toowoomba. People are leaving. Do something to help us!

Our family recently moved to Meringandan West where we have really bad mobile service inside our home. To get any decent service we have to go outside to find it, sometimes we can't find service outside. In this day and age this shouldn't be happening. Its not like Meringandan West is in the middle of nowhere, we are only 15 minutes from Toowoomba. Mobile telecommunications need to be improved, it is a healthy and safety issue. Do something to improve the services before some dies because they did not have adequate mobile service at their home to phone emergency services. Australia is not a third world country!
