The council finally reversed their decision and the pitch is staying open. I am exhausted by the months of fighting but it feels good to know we protected this space for the community. We will keep an eye on the site to ensure they honor this outcome.

Final supporters
Help us to stop the loss of the Moberly Sports Centre's excellent football pitch.
- Several hundred users of the facility, young and old, will be left without a football pitch; demand already far outstrips supply and there are no equivalent pitches available in the area or for several miles around.
- The loss of the pitch is yet another unacceptable consequence of the attempt by Westminster Council to close the Jubilee Sports Centre, 'merge' it with the Moberly Sports Centre and sell the land saved to commercial property developers.

The pitch is vital to our community. Been coming here for years and it is always packed. Dont shut it down.
fix the pitch dont destroy it.
Absolute joke. kids need somewhere to stay out of trouble and play some ball. stop selling off our local land to developers!!
Typical westminster council ruining everything again. Leave our football pitch open.
Ridiculous. We need more sports places not less. Just another money grab by the council.

my boys play here every weekend. where are they supposed to go if this closes? leave it alone.
