MN Valley Trail & Old Cedar Ave. Bridge

People are actually going to the river and using it since the Minnesota River Greenway and Old Cedar Bridge opened. Continue the progress!

Please do not pave this trail. Keep it natural. I grew up in Bloomington and this was my "neighborhood" trail. It has been enjoyed for decades by multiple user groups - cyclists, runners, hikers, birders. Even if users were demonstrably in favor of paving it (they are most certainly not based on turnout), it is wasteful and futile to pave in the this area. "Connecting" trail systems makes sense but has nothing to do with paving part or all of them, this area in particular.

I grew up in east Bloomington and have enjoyed the unpaved trails for over 50 years. Please do not pave them and eliminate one of the last remaining urban true adventure hiking and biking options.

Please do not go forward with the plan to pave the river bottom trails. I cannot think of a bigger waste of public dollars to pave in a flood plain.

paving in a flood area is nonsensical. There are already wonderful trails. All that is needed is perhaps some erosion/ bridge work over creeks and streams. The trail in shakopee has been regularly closed due to buckled pavement/ asphalt. It's possible to travel by foot or mountain cycle from belle plaine to fort Snelling as is right now, except for the closed, already paved sections of the trail.

Please do not pave this area. Bloomington and other cities in the metro already have enough blacktop. Bloomington has the opportunity to preserve this area in its natural state for people to enjoy. This will keep it as a unique attraction that will continue to draw people to Bloomington. Regards, Andy Lane

This trail is our escape from the big city - please PLEASE PLEASE do not pave it! Families of all types enjoy this trail - not just avid cyclists. It is already general use and loved by all. Stop development for development sake!!!!!

Connecting our parks is important to those of us who enjoy seeing the amazing variety of birds that migrate in the fall and winter months. As Richfield residents connecting the trail to Bloomington is a missing link so far.
