تحية طيبة وبعد:

نشكر للمدرسة متمثلة بالهيئة الإدارية وعلى رأسها المديرة الفاضلة رنده الحسن ، والهيئة التدريسة على ما بذلتموه وقدمتموه لأولادنا من رعاية واهتمام وتربية على مدى أكثر من اثني عشر عاما ، وعلى ما قدمتوه لنا نحن أولياء أمور من تعاون وتفهم وحرص كامل على المشاركة في مسيرة أولادنا التعليمة، حتى غدونا أسرة واحدة كبيرة نتشارك في العمل على تحقيق الأفضل لطلابنا الذين أصبح يشار إليهم بالبنان على ما حققوه من إنجازات أكاديمية وعلمية واجتماعية على الصعيد المحلي والعالمي.

ونحن أهالي الطلاب والطالبات نستعد سويا للتنسيق والإعداد لحفل عشاء الطلاب وذويهم بمناسبة تخرج أولادنا من السنة النهائية ، تلك اللحظة التي ينتظرها الكل بفارغ الصبر بعد رحلة طويلة من الجد والمثابرة والتعب اشترك فيها الطلاب والأهل والهيئة الإدارية والتدريسية برزت على السطح حاليا قضية هي محل جدل وخلاف تمثلت في السماح بوجود مشروبات كحولية في حفل العشاء لمن يرغب بشربه ، بحضور أبناؤنا الذين لم يتم الكثير منهم سن الأهلية القانونية .

مثل هذه الأمور لا تخضع للتصويت لا من باب حرمة الخمر بحد ذاته وإنما لأن المنطق التربوي السليم يرفضها.

فكيف يمكن لأي مؤسسة تعلمية وتربوية خاضعة لقوانين وزارة التربية والتعليم أن لا تمنع تقديم الخمر في نشاط -وإن لم يكن داخل أسوار المدرسة- يتم لطلابها.

لا نتحدث هنا في هذا المقام بمنطق الحلال والحرام ، وإنما بمنطق اللائق وغير اللائق، المناسب وغير المناسب.

فهل يليق بالمحضن الذي حرص على تنشئة أولادنا النشئة التربوية والأخلاقية السليمة أن يوفر للأولاد فرصة لخرق القوانين التي تحظر تقديم الكحول لغير الراشدين؟

نحن قد اطلعنا وسافرنا ورأينا المدارس الغربية والتي لا يقف أصحابها موقفا دينيا من الخمر بل يرونه مباحا ، لكننا لم نسمع أو نرى أي مدرسة تقدم المشروبات الروحية في نشاطاتها وفعالياتها ليس من باب الحرمة، إنما من باب أن المدارس التي ترعى من هم دون سن الرشد لا يليق تقديم الخمر فيها وباسمها.

إن الذي يطلع على أنظمة و قوانين المدارس الغربية العريقة ليتعجب من كمية الممنوعات والمحظورات التي تفرضها تلك القوانين لتخلق شخصية متوازنة ومنسجمة مع القيم التي يتمسك بها المجتمع الغربي .

فأي تناقض يوضع ا لطالب فيه عندما لا يمنع حضور الخمر في حفل عشاء لأولاد المونتيسوري ، تلك المدرسة العريقة والحسنة السمعة والتي طالما منعت الدخان والخمر في كافة مرافق المدرسة باعتبارهما يخالفان فلسفة المدرسة التربوية .

بناء على ما تقدم نرجو إصدار التوجيهات بأن يكون عشاء الطلاب والطالبات الخريجين خاليا من المشروبات الكحولية لتبقى مدرسة المونتيسوري الحدثية نموذجا مثاليا للمؤسسة التعليمة والتربوية الملتزمة بفلسفتها التربوية والأخلاقية التي تمسكت بها في كافة المراحل التعليمة للطالب.

Hope this letter finds you in good health.

We, the Modern Montessori School parents,would like to seize this opportunity to extend our gratitude, to both management and teaching staff, for the fruitful twelve years of your giving and devotion. Our children are not only armed with valuable knowledge and quality education but are also strengthened with skills and manners giving them a head start to excel in real life, whether in Jordan or abroad.

Since our kids were in their early years of kindergarten, we grew and became one big family with transparent and open channels of communications to grant maximum coordination to keep them safe and secured.

As you may be aware of, we the parents are now planning for the graduation dinner for students and their families, it is an emotional moment when we see the once-child is crossing over into adulthood, when we acknowledge the harvest of their 12 year of effort, a moment that we all appreciate and look forward to. As we are preparing for this precious day, a controversial concern arises; allowing to those who wants to drink alcohol during an event that is mainly attended by students, who are not even legally eligible to drinking.
The opposition comes not only from religious aspect but also from logical one, it is a direct violation of the slogan that Modern Montessori has always followed, a school that banned smoking and drinking in its premises, and taught their students how to abide by rules and be responsible citizens.

This issue goes beyond Halal and Haram, it is more of what is right and what is wrong, for many reasons, to name few:

1) We see it as double standard, when a trusted institution that long preached its students about staying away from smoking and alcohol. does not prevent the presence of alcohol in its graduation dinner

2) Ironically in western societies, where alcohol is openly and widely accepted, schools and families join forces to make sure that graduation parties remain alcohol-free. Yet parents in a society like Amman, where religion and culture restrains rule, still request their normal and basic right to minimize their children’s exposure to alcohol.

3) There are many parents who would not attend a party with alcohol for religious restrictions. Out of courtesy, we should respect their believes and make it easier for them to join the celebration since it harms no one.

We parents kindly ask that the graduation dinner will be a non- alcoholic party , for Modern Montessori has always been a role model of school that practices what it teaches and leads by example not theories.

May we remain gathered for the well being of ‘the hope of tomorrow’
