Let's bring Major League Soccer to Charlotte!

Dear Mr. Richardson,
Please consider purchasing a Major League Soccer franchise for Charlotte, to operate under the umbrella of the Carolina Panthers and to play their home games at Bank of America Stadium. I believe that Charlotte would make an excellent home for an MLS franchise because:
1. 63,000 soccer fans packed Bank of America stadium to watch an International friendly.
2. Bank of America Stadium is perfectly located, is under-used especially during the spring and summer months of the MLS season, and would make an excellent MLS venue.
3. Charlotte is one of the biggest cities in the US without a major soccer team, and has a large multicultural population that would embrace such a team.
4. MLS Commissioner Don Garber has stated the league needs about three franchises in the South East to complete its expansion plans.
5. Professional soccer's time has come! MLS represents the largest untapped sports market in North America, and will one day rival the NFL in terms of revenue and interest.
By signing this petition I pledge that I would regularly pay to watch such a team playing in Charlotte.
