Ayc pump failed. Not happy. It should be able to withstand these kind of conditions.

I bought the car used. So I'm unaware whether or not the pump went before when the owner before me had the vehicle.

This needs to be covered by mitsubishi. consumers should not pay for a poor design failure

This has indeed been a common failure for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution that I am surprised has not yet been remedied by the manufacturer. Mitsubishi's lack of haste in dealing with common failures is nothing short of ridiculous. Examples aside include the clutch master cylinder which has been prone to breaking leaving a vehicle unable to move and a simple relay for the fuel pump which, if failure occurs, has the potential for catastrophic engine damage. In all three of these cases, there is a serious safety concern. I hope Mitsubishi will address these known issues as they have been problematic since the 2008 release of the Lancer Evolution.
