My pump failed at 35,500 miles, so fortunately it was within the (U.S.) 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. Total obfuscation that this is not treated as a powertrain option and covered by the 5 Year/50,000 mile warranty. Pump failed in temperature of approximately -10 degrees F in Columbus Ohio. Main culprit is that the Dyno ATF congeals at approximately -10 degrees F. Easy replaced with synthetic ATF which has a -60 degree C pour point. $30 fix, too bad Mitsu can't see the forest for the trees.

service 4wd light came on. this happened one time before. ended up being the pump. dealer wanted $2100 to fix. not covered under powertrain oextended warranty. ended up having to pay 700, dealership and Mitsubishi payed the rest. now I'm afraid I have the same issue Again!!!

I have a 2011 Lancer Evo MR. Never been tracked, live in Muskego Wisconsin. I have 43k miles on it. And the tarmac/gravel/snow light is flashing. The reservoir in the trunk is good. No leaks detected on my garage floor, and Dealer is saying most likely not going to be covered under Powertrain warranty. I got rid of my 2006 Evo IX for the same issue, the pump went at 40k miles. Never was tracked. I take very good care of all my vehicles. This is the last Evo I am getting. Mitsu is pulling plug, not much Evo sales in US.
