Seeing this kind of momentum for Miss Waite is deeply moving even if the road ahead feels long. It is exhausting to keep pushing but seeing how many people remember her impact makes the heavy lifting worth it.

She has taught My mother, uncle, brother and myself (classes of '59, 69', 83, and 86). In addition to the students that she has impacted she has also given time and money to support people in this community. She has set up a college scholarship at the High School and has contributed to my classroom at Kalmiopsis for a Children's hospital fundraiser. Please select her as this year's Grand Marshall.
Miss Waite has probably had more direct contact with every student in the Brookings Harbor School District than any teacher alive! She began teaching PE classes in the 50's, then moved into Mathematics early 70's. The BHHS Decade of the 70's Alumni is holding a reunion this Azalea Festival and it seems only fitting to have this wonderful teacher and friend lead our parade and be honored for the role she played in so many of our lives!!
Miss Waite, Miss Kurle and Mr. Morin were the most memorable teachers in Azalea School for a lot of years. We didn't get to honor Miss Kurle or Mr Morin before their passing but it is time to honor Miss Waite for her many years of devotion and concern for all the students in Brookings during their tenure. Miss Waite taught Math and PE at Azalea. She and Miss Kurle were also avid sports fans and could be seen for years on the benches watching the Bruins. Miss Waite is still interested in “her” students and now keeps track of us, our kids and grandkids. I vote for Miss Waite to be the Azalea Festival Grand Marshall.
Miss Waite deserves to be acknowledged by the community for the many years she instilled math knowledge to Azalea Middle school students. The community can do this by having Miss Waite as the Grand Marshall of the Azalea Festival 2015. She taught all 4 of the CORNER children and we often talk about her. Thank you for considering her. I can't believe she hasn't already been Grand Marshall. She taught my mom & dad & most of my aunts & uncle. It would be a shame if they did not pick her. Miss.Curley will be smiling from heaven.

Ms. Waite was instrumental in mathematics in heiping me in my career. Captain Joh J. Waller American Airlines. Please consider her for the 2015 Grand Marshal.
