An emergency vet is definitely needed in this area. From Marion our closest is over an hour away. Kokomo would be 30 minutes which could be the difference between life and death

I think Kokomo needs an emergency vet. I’ve been in situations with my pets and family friends who needed urgent care for our beloved animals.

We love our animals like we love our human child. What made the loss of our dog more tragic, was the pain he experienced and the danger we had driving out of town at two in the morning to get him help... I'm sobbing and holding my puppy tight while my husband is driving us... our 15 year old dog dying from a heart attack. Please bring an emergency vet service to our town. After only usually adopting senior dogs, we have since rethought doing this because our last baby was almost 15, too, with diabetes and we drove him out of town as well for a scare.

We had to take our dog 2 years ago at 11pm to Fishers, Indiana for eating chocolate covered raisins. It was a life threatening situation, and she was there 2 nights. I would have loved not driving over an hour to a Vet Hospital, but I didnt have any other closer choices. They were wonderful, and we still have her. A closer one for after the vets close and especially for weekends is very needed in Kokomo

So many people in our community have had to travel outside of our area to seek treatment for our fur babies after hours. I would love for us to have an option here.

Over the years, I have needed access to emergency care for the five dogs that have been in my life over the course of many years. I currently have one dog, and just this month, I had to travel to Med-Vet for services. Kokomo Animal Hospital was apparently booked and had no emergency appointments available. This was during their regular hours too. I had to drive to Med-Vet, alone, I’m a senior citizen/widow, not knowing exactly where I was driving to, driving in Carmel traffic, while trying to console my sick dog. I was a nervous wreck and very anxious. Med-Vet personnel did a great job and we had a good ending, but I would much rather take my dog to a facility in Kokomo.

As a pet parent I know how desperate we are for this in our city. We have made the run to Indy with an emergency and know how stressful it is to have an emergency and have it take an hour to get help. Please ....losing a family member just because we couldn't get there in time is excruciating!
