I’ve had to take my dog all the way down to Carmel to have Emergency care. Obviously the dog did not make it. I would just assume be able to take it to a vet here in Kokomo but even at that it’s hard to even find a vet in Kokomo that will accept patients.

It's creates jobs, it spares pet owners extra stress and heartbreak, and spares people's pets from prolonged pain. Access to these resources locally are long overdue

Our pets are our family. I had a 2 year old German Shepherd die because there was no place local to take him. Seconds do matter ❤️🐶🌈💔

Because I actually needed an emergency vet and I couldn't have made the drive that far, and try to take care of him at the same time.

It's devastating to see your soul dog gasping for air. He didn't have hours to wait for care. Kokomo desperately needs emergency vet care for after hours and weekends.

I am signing this because I've had to drive at night now four times to Indy, because we can't have emergency care here, and on one of those occasions it was for my nephews dog who was dying, and others it was for my own dog, as and older person with vision problems those late night trips are not only dangerous for me, but for my pet and for others on the road as well. The sad part is we can't even get help from the vets who are the caregivers of our pets if its after a certain hour or a weekend.

I have had animals that needed immediate care and was turned down by every vet in town. Animals die before you can get them to the nearest emergency vet.

I have an older golden. You never know when they will get sick. I had no idea there were no after hours vets in Kokomo.

My fur baby had a stroke a few months ago. I had to wait days to have her seen because I couldn’t afford an emergency vet and everyone was booked. A few weeks later she had a seizure. I’m thankful she’s still with me. She’s doing amazing now.

I love my pets!!! I’ve had to drive to Lafayette twice because of no care available in Kokomo. S ometimes it takes up to 2 weeks just to get an appointment at the veterinarian- it would be awesome to have something local.

I have a senior dog. I'm afraid he might need urgent care in the near future. Illegals get free 24 hour care, why not our pets?

Animals need care, there’s no reason Kokomo citizens should worry about a long drive to get their loved pet help, let alone trying to hurry and get your pet to the place of help at a long distance is unsafe and can cause extra harm/accidents.

Yes, if there could be a trusted vet in the area for after-hours carr, that would be wonderful. The county vets use to rotate weekend on call but that hasnt been the case for a long time.

My cat had an abcess rupture after hours. He was in pain most of the night because we had to wait till the next morning.
