Agree 100% There is no one to call on the weekends or in the evenings if there is an emergency! There needs to be something set up, vet students from Purdue could get credit for something like this.

As a dog owner, I've made the emergency trip out of town more than once. Our oldest is 14 now & I constantly worry about logistics if he would need help outside of M-F, 9-5 vet hours.

I have had to take both my dogs to emergency vets in Fishers. And unfortunately I had to take one to Fishers to be put down. That was the hardest drive there and then the longest drive home without my fur baby.

We had a Beloved cat. All he wanted was love. He had a problem over a weekend & couldn't be seen for couple days. His crying in pain was heartbreaking. He made it to appointment, but not in time for help. His loss is felt every day. I had 2 dogs when we had 24 hr vet care. One we got to 17 yrs old. The other had epilepsy I adjusted phenobartitol daily for seizures. That emergency Vet hospital partnered with me to get her to 18 yrs old. Yes, with a couple 2 am Vet calls & visits.

Considering that emergency rooms for humans are available at all times, it would be beneficial to have similar animal care services. Animals are indeed important.

If there is an emergency, every minute counts. Our pets may not make to 30 to 40 minutes to drive to an emergency vet.

Recently had to take my cat from Kokomo to WESTFIELD in the middle of the night because it was the only place open. Would love another option that's closer to home. Driving 40 minutes one way just be be treated like trash isn't that convenient.

ER’s for our people, great, but what about our beloved pets who often kind are not only companions, but like children to not only be elderlyj to growing families. Come on Kokomo, this has been an ongoing problem since I’ve lived here for 25 years. Granite, emergency vets are expensive, but pet owners would gladly pay the price to save theirj beloved pets.

Trying to drive fast with a crying and/or dying pet an hour or more is not only unsafe but excruciating for you and your pet. Rotating emergency teams or triage care would not only be quicker but perhaps not as costly. Local vets could charge a premium for emergency calls but maybe not charge the same expense as the emergency hospitals in Carmel, Fishers, and Indy. We have taken 4 cats at separate times and had to pay several hundred upfront, just to be seen, totaling $1200-3,000 each animal.

I have made numerous trips to Purdue or Circle City Emergency vet for my pets and the drive to get my beloved pets somewhere quick enough to get care, is so brutal. We need emergency care that is in town.

I have animals and they are family to my family. A beloved dog of mine had what appeared to be a stroke. We had to keep her comfortable all night because no vets were around until morning.

Emergencies don't always happen between 8-5. In a life threatening emergency, one's pet may not have the hour it takes to Fishers or Purdue, longer in the winter. I don't drive tue to AMD, do I must also find someone willing to take me and my pet to an ER clinic. More time wasted. I'm a nurse. New vets, just like new doctors coming out of school, don't want to take call. If you want an 8-5 job, find another profession. Our pets need and depend on you 24/7.

I have 10 dogs. I feel we need an emergency vet. I had to take my rescue to Carmel for a horrible skin infection the week of Thanksgiving. I couldn’t let her suffer over the holiday

Kokomo is a large enough community of pet lovers that local emergency veterinary services are warranted. The nearest emergency services are currently about 45 minutes away by car at best.
