Sign Petition To Tell Candidates We Want More debates.

Candidates for the Minnesota US Senate race between DFL incumbent Amy Klobuchar and GOP challenger State Representative Kurt Bills have, to date, engaged in one debate.

Although the Bills campaign has asked several times for more debates, Senator Klobuchar has committed to only one additional debate before the November election.

More debates in various styles and locations throughout the state need to be scheduled. This petition is intended to send a message to the candidates that the citizens of Minnesota want an opportunity to hear Senator Klobuchar and State Representative Bills speak from their hearts, defend their positions and outline their strategies for the future in open-to-the-public debates accessible to all.

The Democratic process is the key foundation of our government. The opportunity to listen to political candidates engage in debate with one another is an important part of a citizen's ability to make sound, educated decisions as they enter the voting booth.

Sign the Petition below to demand more debates.

Updates

August 19, 2012

I have finalized a formal letter to both the Klobuchar and Bills campaign offices requesting a public commitment to three additional debate sessions. We are monitoring their responses and will track which office chooses to engage with this request for transparency.

August 19, 2012

The campaign offices for both candidates have been notified of this surge in interest regarding additional debate opportunities. I am currently coordinating with local broadcast outlets to determine their availability for hosting further forums.

HOW CAN WE VOTE IF WE DONT HEAR THEM TALK? stop hiding and start debating. minnesotans have questions that need answers.

only one debate is a joke. we deserve to see them go head to head more than that so we know who we are actually voting for in november.
