Mingo County Special Education Department cancels Special Olympics

This is a shame everyone needs to sign this

This is rediculous! These kids look forward to this ! Don't take it away!

I think you need to reinstate Mingo County Special Olympics. it is not fair to take it away.

This is very sad for the children, parents, volunteers, ect. who look forward to this event each year.

Please help in getting the Mingo County Special Olympics reinstated.

This is so unfair and I believe may be discrimating. Who in their mind made this decision?

This makes me sad to know that our country would take away the only day these kids get that is TRULY THEIR DAY. MOST of these kids don't have the opportunity to participate in traditional sports the other kids do. This is their day to shine.

These children look forward to this..it sadden me to think it will be taken away..come and let them enjoy their self

This is an event the students look forward to every year. Please do not cancel the Special Olympics.

This is an outrage. Those children looks forward to this every year, and as a former volunteer, I say this from the prospective of seeing those children's face light up with happiness each year.

so are they going to cancel every sports because all the kids missed to many days

i thank its a shame my son is in the Special Olympics he looks forward to it he just brought his paper to take to the doctor so he could be in the opylmpics so how do you tell your child that has autism that he cant be in it now its not fair to them i mean why is football and basketball and all other sports still allowed to go on the oplylmpics are a sport as well..

This is discrimination at its very best against our special needs children. I am sure that our educators are taught that socialization skills is a part of educating our children in communication skills with their peers. What's wrong with the BOE. We demand the rights for our special needs children. I refuse to use the word PLEASE to the BOE. This is our rights for our children.

These children need this. There is no good reason to take this from them!

This is Flat Out DISCRIMINATION : If there going to cancel the Special Olympics based on the number of days of school missed then ALL SPORTS should be CANCELED Not Just this one EVERY CHILD Has the Right to Take Part In Sports an a Child With Special Needs this is the one day they get to take part an be a Winner Its Not Right The Mingo County Special Education Department Need to Stop the Discrimination an Reinstate the 2013-2014 Special Olympics !!!

Ya know, for some of these kids, they may not have a lot, but when the time for the Special Olympics comes around it puts a smile on their faces.

These children need this. They love participating in these activities. If you are not going to have these Special Olympics due to snow days, then cancel the other sports activities that's going on, like the sectional, regional & state basketball tournaments & cancel baseball or softball. Don't treat these kids any different.

Taking this away will take away a short moment of happiness from a special needs child. This is his or her moment to shone, and I can't sit back and watch their spotlight be taken away. I support this petition 100%.

Please take another Day my Son Loved this Last Year and was beyond proud of himself for getting Medals...Not to many Days that he gets to be Proud
