I was brought up in wonderful Millstreet, left in 1985. I can’t believe that this barbaric “sport” is still happening but to think that the good people of my beloved hometown can’t use THEIR, public amenity for weeks just beggars belief!
Please stop!

Closing the park for a month of the year is disproportionate. No other association gets 1/12th of a year’s exclusive use of what is a public amenity.

Seems too cruel to be calling this a sport. The park should remain open for all of us who enjoy walking here.

Barbaric ‘sport’ that abuses both hare and greyhound. You have to query the intelligence of those supporting the continuation of this rubbish.

Killing sentinel beings does not align with being a sport. It aligns with cowardice! Ban this evil sport.

Disgraceful allowing such a barbaric so called sport take place in a public park and to allow the park to be closed for a month. Despicable cruelty.

It is time for this cruel so called sport to be banned, inflicting mindless cruelty on defenseless animals for so called entertainment is barbaric. Depriving people access to a public amenity for this heinous activity is a wrongful act that needs to stop now.

A barbaric, outdated cruel activity which should not be permitted to take place on public lands.

Kick coursing out of the town park. The hares suffer and so too does Millstreet's image. A ban on coursing is long overdue - a 77% majority want the government to outlaw it (with just 9% against a ban).

Keep the park open, it’s the bleakest darkest time of the year and the park provides a safe environment for walkers, runners, kids playing ball on the pitches etc. 100 plus people using it daily during the week and many more at weekends, to exclude all these people for weeks is not acceptable.

I believe the town park is for the people of the town. Why should it be closed to entertain a minority group of people ? I'm saying NO to greyhound racing.
