Proud member of the Class of 1982. Don't spoil the fun for these kids.

As a Class of 1980 graduate, I respectfully request that you re-consider the decision to cancel the Pep Rally. As a School Board Member myself in Liberty NY, I can appreciate the tough decision that must be made. I do however believe that punishment should be given to the violators and innocent students should not suffer for the actions of a few. Thank you in advance for your consideration of this matter.

Class of 1984. Let's teach responsibility and not think taking something away is always the best recourse.

This class didn't get a Washington trip in 8th grade and now this is being taken away. There will always be issues with some students; supervise all events properly and you will have less. Don't punish the kids who deserve to participate in a school spirited activity. It's a shameful display of your inability to handle an isolated incident.

Typical of Dr. Higuera's pompous attitude, and disregard for students, and their families. She has to go.

You shouldn't punish the whole school because of the acts of a few!

Everything in the petition was very well said. Chances are that not having a pep rally will make students rebel. Prob not good for your oh so important reputation ! There's more kids closer with news 12 reporters than you think ! Make the right choice guys !

Class of 2011! One of my fondest memories during my time at Miller Place High School was the pep rally. It was a time to have fun with our classmates and celebrate how much spirit our school and entire town has. Allowing the consequences of a few students to ruin a great experience for an entire student body is senseless and should not even be a thought. Punishing those who chose to act irresponsibly is all that should be occurring. Don't allow them to take this experience away from you!

Class of 1980... c'mon, this is ridiculous. Let the kids have their pep rally. A couple of students ate pot brownies last year? Oh, my, must have been the first time in Miller Place's history. No one EVER got drunk or stoned in the 1970s and 1980s, when I was there... shameful actions on the part of the board of education and administrators. I hope that if you don't respond to this petition, the students and community GO RIGHT AROUND YOUR ASSES and hold a pep rally anyway. Direct action gets the goods. Rescind this stupid power grab now.

Miller Place School District has been disappointing the community quite often lately! You can clearly see how many students and parents are upset over the Pep Rally being canceled. If this is true that a few students made bad choices, you need to step up your game and deal with the issue with the students and parents and not take a very important event from the rest of the students. If it's not true, then you need to speak up and reach out to the community and let us know your side of the story!!!!

I have no idea what happened to cause a district to punish everyone. There has to be some other things/ideas to persue. How about volunteer parents to help chaperone. Anything. Don't take away a memory!

I believe that others shouldn't be punished for something that students did in the past. This isn't their fault.
