Great piece of software needs a home. Active and loyal user base already here. Please take advantage of this opportunity.

Sonar would be a perfect one-up Windows Accessory to counter Apple's Garage Band. If Microsoft is serious about media creation this would be an exceptional addition. Make Cakewalk's "Home Studio" a free windows accessory and upsell Sonar.

Seems to me that the Microsoft Surface is a great platform for many creative individuals and teams... however, it is sorely lacking in the music creation department. Would not the acquisition of a proven music creation product with a 30 year pedigree be a no brainer?

SONAR is mature software and could be maintained fairly easily. With more people buying Surfaces and such, this would be a great foil to Apple owning Logic and GarageBand.

Yes. Please. I've used Sonar for 20 years and I know many of the developers have worked on the product this long. For Gibson to buy it and kill is was crushing. I'm no fan of Gibson and I think they thought they were buying easy money. As we all know, software takes work to maintain and advance and I think Gibson underestimated how different being a software company is from making overpriced guitars. (dig intended).

Please Microsoft, just beat down the Apple Macs & their Logic Pro software by developing SONAR yourself. Lots of people get attracted just by the name 'Microsoft' attached with SONAR. Thanks! Hope to hear soon.

Our company works since 1995 with SONAR and digitizes tapes and vinyl for customers. Its the best software we found for our customers as state and city archives, publishers and individuals.
We don't want to lose this great software.

MS should acquire this DAW and continue it's development. There's a large and loyal customer base and it has been the premier DAW for Windows users for a decade or more. I would certainly continue to pay for and use new features on my Windows platforms. T

It would be great if you save a 30 year old Windows supporting Music platform!

It's a piece of software which has remained exclusive to Windows - it would make sense for Microsoft to snap it up. It has a rich history on the platform. Sonar, as well as many other pieces of Cakewalk software, deserve better than to just be abandoned.

Cakewalk needs a heavy hitter.
Don't let it die!
