I urge our legislators to vote yes on HB4329. I have now retired from a 40 year court reporting career, but I am appalled that the per page rate has not passed. This has been an ongoing campaign for an increase in the per page rate during my whole career. It is now way past time to pass an increase.

Very important. The record needs to be kept by competent reporters. The pay raise is vital.

I personally have been doing transcripts since 2004 without even a cost of living increase. Most of the transcripts barely made me minimum wage but I needed to do them as I was a single parent for years. Please increase the rates.

The court reporters of the great state of Michigan deserve this raise in rates. The current rates are well below those in other states and certainly the federal system. On top of a general shortage of reporters, Michigan is losing good talent due to the inequity in rates. This directly affects the quality and efficiency of Michigan's entire judicial system. Please vote to raise these rates to support the hard working reporters of Michigan.

I'll be graduating soon and would like to make a decent living wage. Please bring Michigan's page rate up to at least the national standard.

Wondering how anyone in any other vocation could survive today earning what they were 35 years ago...being ever mindful that costs of production have kept pace with inflation. Legislators, please support HB 4329.

I have been preparing transcripts for many years. Recently I have tried to encourage a few people to become certified and prepare transcripts. Unfortunately, they decline because of the money issue. Please pass House Bill 4329 (2019) and increase our wages that are so far behind the other states.
