Please give these students the respect that they deserve and allow them to finish out high school with their general education peers.

Truly not fair that ALL STUDENTS were considered EXCEPT for the Sped/FAA kids. Caroline is in that group that might be forced to move and she will be starting her Junior year. I don't see how that is fair?

It is very upsetting to me at how a few select people feel they know what's best for all these special needs children. I am sure if they had a child with special needs it would be a much more different situation. These kids have a hard enough time with just the everyday struggles why on earth would you want to make things even harder on them? I have a special needs daughter who attended MHS I can't imagine what it would have done to her to be ripped from all her friends & familiar surroundings that made her feel safe & secure? I have never understood why some people feel this population of people doesn't really matter? That they should be taken advantage of because they can? Because they are not able to speak and stand up for themselves that you can walk all over them? Shame on you, this decision was made without any thought or consideration for these kids.

My brother has special needs and because of this I understand what it would do to a child and their love ones to have them leave their norms!

There's got to be an alternative to disrupting these students' lives by making them move. They face hardship enough without being taken out of their comfort zone. Maize is supposed to have some of the best schools out there. Let's keep it that way and not move these kids! It's so important to their well-being. Hang in there Lexi and all of your classmates. you have A LOT of people backing you. Thank you.

As a mom to one of these students, it is infathomable to me that individuals that are the ones that are charged with "protecting" special education students are the ones that are NOT protecting them and forcing them to move, which would be detrimental to them. Also, in light of building a wing for these students, they are not thinking about the fact that they are ISOLATING these children from their regular ed peers and violating the LEAST RESTRICTIVE ENVIRONMENT mandate provided these students! #itsnotjustabuilding to these students! Please keep these students where they belong!
