I didn't go to medina, I went to Brunswick and the career center but it is absolutely ridiculous the way us girls have to dress and be treated unfairly.

We should be able to wear shorts but if girls asses are hanging out , no that's distgusting. Tank tops who cares as long as your tits aren't hanging out or boldging out.

I totally agree. My daughter is in band and they march last period of the day and they are in jeans since they cannot wear shorts. Also my daughter said about the climate control in building. Depends where you are if it is hot or cold.

I am for 100% for this, I hate not being able to wear certain things because it isn't allowed, I really hope this goes through this year

I agree with a compromise on the knee length shorts and also tank tops. Its too hot. I am a parent of a middle school girl who will be at MHS and while i do agree with NO short shorts , or low cut tanks with breasts hanging out ,I do feel that knee length and no tanks at all is going overboard. It is IMPOSSIBLE to find clothes at this length and also tank tops with a 2-3 in margin strap SHOULD be allowed. Why should girls be penalized because boys can not control themselves. Its ridiculous. Also this should change for middle school as well, clagget does not have "climate controlled" rooms. Yes i agree with rules but these rules are a little over the top. It should not be allowed for boys and yet the girls suffer. If its such an issue than do unniforms across the district and be done.

I remember being I high school and this being the most ludicrous pet of it. Now that I'm in college, people wear whatever they want and they still get an education.

Knee length dresses and shorts are ridiculous. Find a fair compromise, it really isn't asking for that much.

I firmly agree about the dress code issue. As a recent alumni of Medina high school I can say that many points in this argument are in fact valid from my stand point. Addressing the knee length on shorts dresses and skirts- there is very little now a days for girls/women to wear that comes close to the knee. There are many that will cover right above, but do nor touch the knee. There is a difference between middle of the thigh and finger tip. Just like there is a difference between something that will cover your buttox and something that when you bend over allows half of your cheek to hang out,for lack of better words. If this rule should be in place after this discussion is held with the administration I believe it should also stand for boys/men, any personnel that plays a sport/is in known extra activities, and especially teachers. I can not tell you how many times throughout my high school career I saw many teachers break a dress code that they so strictly must enforce. If anyone would like examples please turn your attention to one of the associate principles and a math teacher in the lower green house. I'm sorry, Jean skirts that may come to the knees when you stand but have a slit up the back are simply not appropriate. Now to address dresses- any dress that is worn should cover any under clothes. I believe this means bras, straps of bras and tank tops, and breasts. Yes you should be allowed to express yourself at school, but would you really like to be known as the girl/woman who put 'it all' out there? I understand that at this age it's all about how you look and who you are with, but believe me, when you look back on events and people, none of those things matter. Now if I may bring another item to attention I believe it should once again be sports and dress code for school. Yes I understand for some sports you wear spandex and for choirs you wear all sparkly crazy things. But does that allow you to be above the dress code? Yes I understand that your parent

Compromise is the key. Fingertip length on skirts and shorts is good. Wear shorts under skirts/dresses. Yoga pants and leggings are fine, and butt/crotch should be covered when standing. Good luck!

they started enforcing this dress code my freshman year and would sit me in the office all day instead of having me go to class to learn. Prioritize learning over a stupid rule!
