West Springfield received a skate park through donations and the young males love using it. The area is small but is a great draw. My motto for teens is keep them busy and keep them tired. This is a fantastic idea to burn off some energy. My suggestion is to build it somewhere they will be able to show off their skills, getting positive feedback for their ability to stick with the sport and do well, and securing the space under ramps so they don't become forts and private hangouts.

They took down the skatepark in easthampton, the one in northampton is all flat ground skating, and doesnt have all sized ramps, and types or ramps, for a new rider to learn, and to move there way up, and it's to small. And has no water fountains. And is in Northampton.... If you want to try to have majority of riders in a location. Passivly controlling them. At least give them something to be proud of. Something to look forward to go ride on. Something that inspires youth to want to go out in the sun and do something. Because of how lucky they are to have that location close by. And the people in the neighborhood need to respect it as well
