MFO Flight Funding

Congressman Ruppersberger (Dundalk, MD) is offering an amendment that authorizes the government to pay for soldiers deployed to MFO (Sinai, Egypt) flights home for R&R (Leave and vacation). Under current policy, soldiers must pay their own flight (unlike soldiers deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan). There is a press conference in Dundalk, Maryland (Battalion Headquarters) at 10 a.m., Wednesday 18 May 11. Family members wishing to support the Congressman should try to attend this press event, so that it looks like there is plenty of support. Please note: no law has been passed, as of right now. As of right now, the Government WILL NOT purchase a plane ticket for these Soldiers to fly home during deployment, for leave and vacation. That is what the Congressman hopes to get approved, but he will need support.
All soldiers deployed deserve the change to come home and see their families. The government orders take them from home, the government should pay for them to come home.
