This would benefit both Watford residents and people coming from London into Watford also. Anything that makes it easier to travel will be worthwhile and heavily utilised in my view.

Vital to make the tube line more widely available for those who do not have the funds for other options.

Angry and extremely disappointed that this promised extension to the MET line has just been deliberately cancelled. Does this man not realise that commuters are travelling into London and are contributing to the economy of London .

The problem is Watford is not in Greater London (TfL = Transport for London!). Sadiq Khan is probably worried that costs will increase AGAIN and he'll have to find the extra cash, affecting his ability to fund services in the Greater London area.

Very disappointing decision by Sadiq Khan. So much for him poncing on about there being a “strategic transport partnership” between London and the South East.
It also does not bode well, should we get a future Labour Government. I understand the current Labour Party likes to think it believes in wealth-distribution - ie. “creating opportunities for the many, not the few”. Well, here was a beautiful example of how the Labour Party could demonstrate this - the Labour mayor of the richest area in the UK distributing its wealth beyond the GLA boundary. Everything was in place to make this happen - funding, planning permission, legislation from Parliament, the agreement of all stakeholders. Except one - the Labour Party! It beggars belief.

I am in full support for this scheme to go ahead, the sooner the better for the entire Watford community.

London's economy does rely on workers from Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. London is not an island.

Dear Mayor Sadiq Khan,
To seek the extra funding you requested and then to renege on implementing this agreement and that made by your predecessor is dishonourable and shortsighted, especially for commuters to London who help finance its prosperity!!

Does the Mayor of London not realise that a large proportion of Watford and surrounding towns/villages work in London contributing to the commerce, infrastructure and economy. Surely the better the speed and convenience of access for them to commute via the Met Line from Watford Junction and the other proposed stations would increase this further. Working in an Estate Agents in Watford, at least a third of our vendors are those that are moving out of London but still wish to commute to work in London. Regards - H SPISAK

Seems such an obvious thing to do. 40,000 die annually from polluted air, yet the Mayor blocks improvement to public transport. Shame on him!

I am absolutely disgusted how the Mayor of London go back on his word and make life very hard for us here in Watford. Our commuters play a vital role of keeping businesses running in London. We pay through the nose on our rail transport fares and our Oyster card fares compared to other areas. Enough is enough!

Dear Mayor Sadiq Khan
Please would you kindly reconsider and deliver the proposed Metropolitan Line Extension.
This would undoubtedly bring huge revenue for London as many of the Watford Residents do in fact work in the capital.

So lacking in vision not to press ahead with this and reduce car journeys while enhancing the rail/tube network

The money's in place, so what is the problem? A huge amount of money is being invested in the town centre and additional transport to get people in/out is essential.

Illogical action when the demand for public transport is growing AND he has the funding in place

The extension is an important part of the transport network. This will save passengers a great deal of time and encourage more people to use the underground. The mayor is, as usual, short sighted.

Very disappointed in Sadiq Khan. Bus routes are dwindling us getting into Watford ad it is and the traffics a nightmare. When he took over I’m sure he had to fulfil the obligations of the previous mayor.
