Disappointed that you do not consider Watford as part of London. Watford Junction should definitely be connected to London by the Met line!

Disappointing as Watford residents do help the economy of London, but perhaps no votes in it for SK. Easy to blame Boris.

Watford Junction to Euston is an overcrowded route at peak hours and with the extension, there can be dispersion of passengers, it is much needed. Please get the extension approved.

I've written at length about the major safety and construction issues with the few guided (and non-guided) busways we have in the UK - 6 derailments caused by drivers overspeeding into speed restricted track BEFORE the Croydon tram crash plus a number of rear end shunts, including the debacle of Dunstable (19 in hospital after a bus ran into a broken down bus at nearly 50mph - yet no published report as with a rail or tram crash!) Construction is also an issue given the likely ground conditions - Cambridge built with long beams over river silts and clays is still moving around and cracking apart - after barely 7 years replacing, for much of its current length, serviceable railway lines! Then there is the clear strategic gain of having a railway connection that can deliver a contingency RAIL service to London for the times when ALL services to Euston are stopped (a detail which oddly enough we are being told to expect in the very near future, and even happens, unplanned, from time to time). With the completion of East-West Rail as well, we would even gain a West Coast by-pass route between Milton Keynes and Watford. Essentially this rail link would deliver far more than a connection to the Metropolitan Line, and there is in my view a very cogent argument to look at this with Chiltern Railways and deliver a key link into Buckinghamshire from Watford delivering additional trains on the lines North of Rickmansworth which connect with services in to Marylebone, Baker Street or Euston, for just a short length of new railway and resurrection of the rest. This would mirror the Transport Scotland strategy, that even this week 'saved the day' when one of the five routes was closed by a wall collapse for 3 days - there was no massive problem - other than 2 fewer trains per hour, from the 12 to choose from normally!

With the time effort and promises given to this planned works it is difficult to understand what grounds the London mayor has for not going ahead with his promises. I feel for the residents of London boroughs as they would not be able to trust any promises made by him in the past or the future.

As a Watford resident who regularly travels into London for leisure and culture, bringing income to the Capital, I deeply regret that you will not fund the Met line extension, which would improve links for people like me, dspite our MP,Richard Harrington scuring substantial funding for the project.

I am so disappointed in Sadiq Khan. When he was elected I was happy because I thought he was a man of principle, but it turns out his like most if the politicians... liars. Makes promises to win votes & once elected does not deliver what he has promised. Watford travel is so expensive, yet we are only 1 stop away from Harrow & Wealdstone. Children in London get free transport yet I have to pay extortion fares for my kids to travel. It’s a pity that we can’t claim expenses back like ALL these politicians do. I am a Civil Servant whose has had a pay freeze for over 8 years. I hope Sadiq Khan you read this and deliver on your promise. As well as changing Watford zone to 5. Please stop ripping people off & stop ripping honest & hard working residents of Watford. There are enough people already doing that.

Too much money spent already to ditch it. Sadiq Khan has had the money as promised and now wants to renege. Tfl agreed to go ahead with this - if they do not then the money, a not inconsiderate sum, must be repaid.

Watford need this extension line. Try to keep at least one of your promises

I think it is most unfair for the London Mayor to refuse this extra rail link in Watford after all the hard Work that Mr Harrington has put in. Make sure that we get back the money for Watford's future as it is not his to use.

Infrastructure and forward thinking are what matters. Playing catch up in years to come costs more

Vital link for a majority of people living in Watford.

What more does the current London Mayor want? We have had this ongoing issue of ages. Upheaval, work, allotments gone, all in the name of this project, which is now being stopped for what? A whim of the Mayor? Madness, we have been promised this for ages, now time to deliver.

This link would be of tremendous benefit to the people of Watford. It will cut local traffic congestion and also improve journeys to London.

Very disappointing to read that the Mayor of London is now backtracking on his own words and commitment. Please set aside politics as this link is vital for west watford's development.

I am very disappointed with this decision an the lack of vision from the Mayor of London. Where does he think the workers in London come from or where the extra housing is being built?

I suspect Mr Khan isn't supporting this as there are no votes in it for him. Watford needs this extension and its time the fare structure whereby it is more expensive to travel to Watford than some London boroughs despite being nearer to the centre of London is reformed.

The Met line extension has been promised to watford for several years and would help people get to the hospital and football stadium and town centre more easily, a guided bus route is not the same. I hope this decision will be reconsidered.

Mr Khan. Show Watford you care about us. The new extension would be of great benefit to Watford and surrounding areas.
