On behalf of the Marketing Educators of Texas, we would like to propose a petition to the Texas State Board of Education to keep the Marketing Education Certification requirements as they currently stand which require two years of marketing industry experience.
The Texas State Board of Education clearly underestimated how many of us are ready to fight this reckless policy change. This momentum proves the board cannot just steamroll professional standards without facing a massive wall of opposition.

Students deserve teachers who actually know how the industry works. Don't water this down.

Marketing changes way too fast. Teachers need that industry time to keep up with trends.

My kids need teachers with actual marketing backgrounds, not just people reading from textbooks. Please listen to the educators.

Keep the requirements as they are. You need real world experience to teach this stuff effectively, not just a degree.
