We as parents deserve a choice

All pupils in north Belfast should be treated equally. It is totally unfair to have no single sex education secondary schools yet both grammar schools are remaining single sex. How can we help raise the self esteem of young children if the only message being sent is " you need an A to go to a single sex school". Having read the recent inspection report, why merge a school which out performs all the other schools in the same category in North Belfast? Children and parents need choice.

As a past pupils of this school it would sad to see little flower change from the school I remember so well plus it will probably change its name too. All new students should have a choice which type of school they will go to and parents should have a choice for which type of school they will send their child too. I had a choice of which school I wanted to attend and mine was always little flower an all girls school let them have one too.

I don't think co education should be forced on people like this I went to both single sex primary and went to little flower girls and I wouldn't have changed it

As a past pupil of the school I would be so upset to think it would be changed from the wonderful place it currently is!

Why should the people of North Belfast not be allowed a choice? Oh sorry they are, but only if their daughter passes an unregulated test. Elitism to say the very least. A school like no other!

Little flower is a wonderful school situated at the heart of the North Belfast community. The Catholic Church wants Co-educational schools leaving the people of North Belfast with no single sex school to send their child to. Why are the two grammar schools not merging? Surely a school which prides itself on brilliant results and care for the children at its heart should be allowed to remain single sex. Keep our school the way it is. Let their be choice in the community.

I spent the best years of my life at Little Flower and that is because I spent it with other like minded girls - this school needs to remain an all girl school, it instills a strong sense of togetherness and the importance of female strength and solidarity.

There should still be an all girls school. This school should remain the way it always has been.

How hypocritical of the Catholic Church to say it opposes selection yet it is leaving parents with no option if they want their daughter to be educated in a single sex Catholic school. Why are the two grammar schools being left untouched? I think the Catholic Church should be hanging it's head in shame. It certainly isn't on the same wave length as the working class people. Do socially deprived children not have the same rights as middle class children?
