Unjust for these much-needed midwives, as well as their patients, some of whom are now left to scramble at the 11th hour when they have enough on their plates. Unacceptable!

This is my first child and having access to the midwives at Seven Hills West Fork is one of the main reasons I chose this location and practice.

We need midwives. Those that choose to go go low to no intervention deserve the support and heart of the midwives. Taking away our choice to deliver in a hospital setting with a like-minded person will result in more home births so women feel supported in the way we want and deserve.
OBs are amazing but it was the midwives that helped me have the guts to try for my VBAC. The OB told me I only had 38% chance and scheduled a C section.
I rocked my VBAC, only pushing for 18 minutes. I would never have been able to say that without them.

Despite having birthed all three of my children via c-section, I always looked the most forward to my prenatal appointments with Cheyenne Brown. She is an amazing midwife and one of the *only* prenatal carers that actually listened to me and my concerns, despite there being no language to support them (& I turned out to be right). I cannot believe how short sided this decision is; women deserve access to the care they want and are comfortable with. Bring. Back. The. Midwifes.

Please bring back midwives now! People need options and it's not right to take away choices. Midwives are a better fit for some and should be provided. Do no harm. Taking away midwives is doing great harm to mothers and families.

Mercy West, thank you for offering a space for mothers to give birth and trust their bodies with the support of knowledgeable medical providers. I was drawn to your location due to your birthing suite and am saddened that that option will no longer be available due to the termination of these wonderful midwives (as of my current understanding of the situation). If you should need support or assistance in finding ways to restore midwives to Mercy West, please let me know what I can do to help!
As a PT myself, I know that midwives are an important part of the care team in improving outcomes and therefore improving maternal recovery from birth. That is something that I think we can all continue to strive for in our great city.

The midwifery care provided to me during my pregnancy was above and beyond. Be sure I will follow Megan and Cheyenne wherever they go, even if that means not delivering at the hospital nearest to me!

I loved my recent experience delivering at Mercy Health on the west side with my midwife. However, without the option of a midwife, I will most likely not be utilizing this hospital in the future should I have another child. Please find a way to bring midwives back! Women need and deserve this option!
