We, the Undersigned, do wholeheartedly believe that the United States' forcible shutdown of the website Megaupload is a breach of international law for the following reason: Megaupload was a Hong-Kong based company and was therefore not bound by the laws of the United States or its government.

Updates

January 19, 2012

The United States government continues to act like an empire that owns the entire internet instead of respecting basic international borders. I am tired of seeing these bureaucrats kill digital infrastructure just because they can exert raw force from Washington.

The momentum behind this is proof that people are finally fed up with Washington acting like the world police. The U.S. government thought they could just delete a foreign entity without consequence but they were dead wrong.

Ridiculous. Just because you dont like how a company runs its business doesnt mean you get to shut them down across the globe. Stay in your lane USA

Leave the internet alone. They are just trying to control what we see and download like always.

What happened to freedom? The government is acting like they are the world police. Megaupload was fine.
