Dear Mr. Newmark and Mr. Buckmaster,

As I am sure you are already aware, Megan Waterman, a 22-year-old mother from Maine who regularly advertised as an escort on Craigslist, has gone missing while in New York. While away, Waterman always spoke to her daughter Liliana three times a day. Her family last heard from her during one of these calls on the evening of June 5th.

After learning about the tragic disappearance of Ms. Waterman, I, as I can assume you as well, could not bear to imagine how much Liliana must miss and need her mother, and how very desperate her family must be to have her home safely. It takes the solidarity of compassionate-minded people to help those in times of desperation in any way possible.

Craigslist can help bring Megan home to Liliana and the rest of her loved ones by offering a $25,000 reward for information that will help find Megan or anyone who may have hurt her.

The Craigslist Charitable Foundation has demonstrated their commitment to ending the exploitation of women and girls in the commercial sex industry through several $25,000 donations to anti-trafficking organizations, most of which have been returned in protest. As a company that has earned $36 million alone from sex advertisements, your $25,000 donation towards finding Ms. Waterman will directly help a woman whose exploitation was facilitated through Craigslist.

Time is of the essence; the quicker a reward is announced, the sooner people who may have any leads to Megan’s whereabouts will be motivated to speak up.

It is the tragic disappearance of Ms. Waterman and those like her that must unite us all to fight for the justice of those who do not have a voice.

 Sincerely,

Updates

The momentum behind this plea is growing because the public refuses to let Craig Newmark and Jim Buckmaster ignore the blood on their hands. Craigslist profited from these vulnerable women and they owe the Waterman family every cent of a reward to find her.

They make millions off the ads so they can definitely afford a reward for a missing girl. Do the right thing for once.
